Room 6 students at St Joseph’s School in Waipukurau, Central Hawke’s Bay, have been taking part in a ‘Dream Big: Flying High’ project. As part of a 10-session learning structure, the tamariki have been learning about sustainability and how they can be change agents for positive impacts in the community, through the science behind hot air balloons and the mantra of ‘Live the Life you Love’.
On 14 May, the senior class attended the Terrace school to go up in a hot air balloon. Student leaders Brooke and Ashtyne said, ‘Everyone in Room 6 had a turn going up in the hot air balloon and experienced a wonderful view and a memory they will never forget.’
