More than 650 people registered for the Sacred Heart College Lower Hutt centenary celebrations at Labour weekend.

Past pupils and staff travelled from the UK, France, Dubai, Hong Kong, Canada, Australia as well as from all over New Zealand. Principal RNDM Sr Maureen McBride came from Rome for the occasion. Guest speaker and MC, actor and former student Geraldine Brophy kept everyone at the centenary dinner entertained.

The Friday evening ‘soiree’ was a highlight for many who gathered at a transformed Horticultural Hall. Saturday’s fine weather was a blessing as hundreds gathered for year group photos.

The past versus present netball game was keenly contested with the current school team emerging as the victors.

Sunday’s centenary Mass, with celebrant Cardinal Tom Williams, was very well attended and a fitting culmination of a successful weekend’s celebrations.

A big ‘thank you’ from the Centennial Committee to everyone who contributed to its success.
