As an archdiocese, we seek to ensure we act wisely as we identify and respond to local community needs. Changes at the archdiocesan centre recently, to our support of local pastoral ministry, have been made to enable us to better serve pastoral needs in the archdiocese.
Significant has been the merger of Parish Leadership Ministry and Marriage, Family and Young Church Ministry, into a single new department called Church Mission. Most of the projects and services previously offered are continuing
in this new structure but there will be more opportunity for collaboration in pastoral support and without duplication.
Lay pastoral leaders, college youth ministers and Catholic centre-based pastoral staff make up the diverse but well-connected pastoral team.
Other projects managed or assisted by Church Mission include the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council; parish leadership support; adult faith and liturgy formation; ‘Having Life to the Full’ course; and many more.
We work closely with school and social service teams to assist local faith communities around the archdiocese.
Parish pastoral councils, pastoral and teaching staff, volunteer leaders and parishioners are warmly invited to contact our team members if we can help with pastoral and ministry issues where you are. We look forward to working with you!
