The wing has been named after St Jean Vianney whose influence on Suzanne Aubert helped lead her to religious life.
The wing has accommodation for 16 residents. All rooms are large and have their own bathroom. An advanced, integrated call system has been installed to provide non-intrusive monitoring of residents. This assures residents’ freedom while still having their individual needs met. There are secure areas inside and out and views over the sports fields of nearby St Patrick’s College.
This extension has been prompted by a rise in demand for good dementia-level care services among an ageing population.
Until now, the home has had 13 rest home beds, 47 hospital level beds and one bed for respite and convalescent care.
