The evening attracted 22 teams which battled for the top team prize while also buying innumerable raffle tickets and willingly parting with their dollars at every opportunity to raise money for Challenge 2000’s family and youth programmes.
The economic recession is seriously affecting many of Challenge 2000’s children, youth and families and the quiz fundraiser ensures the organisation can deliver positive and innovative services to those most in need.
Substantial prizes came from Elmers Mower Centre, Burrowes and Company, Motor Doctors and the White House Restaurant and many smaller businesses donated gifts.
Inquisitors Alex Ness and Kitty McKinley provided light relief and kept proceedings moving.
Teams from Parliament, parishes, service and youth groups, Catholic colleges’ former students, all added to the diversity and energy of the night.
Challenge 2000’s Street Day Appeal is on Friday September 7 and there are countless jobs associated with this opportunity to promote Challenge’s work on Wellington’s streets.
