WelCom September 2018:
Wellington Catholic Primary Schools shared a Cultural Celebration day at Holy Cross School, Miramar, on Thursday 16 August. Visiting schools included St Francis de Sales, Island Bay; St Patrick’s, Kilbirnie; St Anne’s, Newtown; St Anthony’s, Seatoun; and Sacred Heart Cathedral School, Thorndon. Manuhiri gathered to be welcomed with a pōwhiri calling them across the school grounds and into the hall to be met by Holy Cross School’s strong cultural performance. Everyone then shared in the Liturgy, ‘Called to Love, to Be, to Do.’ The day of activities continued with a programme of performances from each school and concluded with a joint haka. Wellington East Holy Trinity parish priest, Fr Ephrem Tigga gave everyone a final blessing.
