CPWS Samoan Aulotu/Community gifts $15,000 towards the renovation fund of the Cathedral

Newtown) met with Archbishop Paul Martin on Thursday 13th July 2023.

The Samoan Aulotu/ Community of the Catholic Parish of Wellington South leadership team (St Anne’s
Newtown) met with Archbishop Paul Martin on Thursday afternoon, 13th July 2023 to present to Archbishop Paul and the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Sacred Heart parish a donation of $15,000 to assist with the building fund of the restoration work on the Cathedral. 

President – Mr Leota Peni Leota, Vice-President – Kalala Lui, Treasurer-Malia Vito-Tupai and Secretary – Melania Luka-Lui who is also the Chairperson for the CPWS parish council, presented the gift to the Archbishop in which he thanked the CPWS Samoan community for their generosity and assistance.  In the last three months, the Samoan families within the CPWS aulotu and parish community, the youth, visiting families from Auckland and around Wellington with their regional chaplaincy catechists, Vaueli and Veronika Tolova’a FKS gathered for a couple of ‘Tausala’ evenings to achieve this – a social evening of fun, music, entertainment, and generosity to help towards the project.
