Catholic Social Services attends SENCO Expo

Catholic Social Services (CSS) attended the SENCO Expo held in August. This was an opportunity for CSS to connect with coordinators and teachers who are supporting students who need additional learning support in schools. The main aim of being present at the expo was to raise the profile of what Catholic Social Services has to offer in the community.

“It was great to meet the amazing teachers and learning support coordinators” Kamau Holland said. “Many of the educators we met had thought we would only offer assistance to Catholic schools, so it was great to let them know that we offer support to everyone and that they could call us; whether it was a social work referral to assist whānau if they needed additional support to access services, or the Seasons for Growth grief and loss workshop. It was great to build connections with people who advocate for students – we are both working to support the community in different settings, and there are times our work can overlap so we can work together.”
