Attendance Dues are the compulsory property and insurance fee which parents and caregivers legally commit to pay when they enrol their child(ren) in a Catholic school.

The dues are used to pay for the costs of new school classrooms, gymnasiums, technology blocks and other buildings, pay off existing mortgages and pay for the insurance on all school property.

The Archdiocese of Wellington collects attendance dues on behalf of the proprietors of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese.

FAQ’s

When do I pay my attendance dues?

Payment in full is due by the 31 May in the year of enrolment.

If you are unable to pay the full amount by 31 May, you can make an arrangement to pay over the year in regular instalments. These arrangements must be agreed by the Archdiocese Dues team.

Do I still have to pay attendance dues if my child left the school/ college?

The attendance dues are charged pro-rata on your account. If the charges apply to the time that your child was at the school/ college then the amount is fully payable.

How can I can pay my account?

Our acceptable payment methods are by internet banking, Visa credit or debit card, cheque or cash. You can set up automatic payments yourself from your bank account or your bank can do that for you. You can also drop off/post your cheque to our office and you can pay cash at any Westpac branch or at our office in person.

How often do I have to pay?

Payment in full is due on the 31 May in the year of enrolment. Only if you have an agreed payment plan in place and are making regular payments according to the payment plan, then you have until the 30 November to pay the account in full. Regular payments are required on all accounts and this means that your payments are to be for the same amount and frequency eg. $50.00 weekly.

What if I cannot afford to pay?

Please contact your school/college, parish or Attendance Dues team immediately to discuss your options.

Do I have to let you know if my child has left the school/college?

Yes, especially since this may affect the amount of money you are required to pay.

Can I pay the Attendance Dues charges to the school/college?

No, all payments are to be made directly to the Archdiocese of Wellington.

When should I start my first payment?

You can start paying at the beginning of the year especially if you intend to pay the account via a payment plan. This option will allow you to spread out your payments evenly for the duration of the year.

How do I set up a payment plan?

Complete the information in the Enquiry box below “Setting up a payment plan.” Once the information is received by the Attendance Dues team, they will be in contact with you regarding confirmation or request further details if required. Once you receive acceptance, you need to ensure that you set up the automatic payments yourself through your internet banking or request your bank to assist you.

I set up a payment plan but the money has stopped coming out of my account?

Log into your internet banking and check if the automatic payment schedule has expired. If that is the case, you may need to reset the automatic payment. The Attendance Dues team do not have access to your bank account and are unable to make any changes.

Why have you not been taking payments from my credit card?

The Attendance Dues office require your credit card authorisation each year. If you have not provided your credit card authorisation for the current year, we are unable to process payments. Please get in contact with the office immediately to get payments set up or update new credit card details.

Can I pay weekly using my credit cards?

For credit card options you can pay weekly, fortnightly, monthly, every 2 months or every 3 months (termly).

What happens if I overpay?

Any overpayment into your account will result in a credit. The money will remain in your account and once the charges are applied the following year, you will have less to pay.

What happens if I don’t pay and don’t contact you?

Since the Attendance Dues are a compulsory payment any default in payment terms may make you liable for debt collection action. This may involve your account being handed over to our debt collection agency. This will incur additional costs for you and may affect your credit rating.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if you have overpaid. Refund requests must be received in writing and you can email your request to Dues.adw@cathconnect.nz together with your account number, name and banking details.
