An update from Lucienne Hensel and Chris Duthie-Jung from the Church Mission team about what’s been happening in Nelson this week!
“On Thursday we met with a large group of parents of almost 40 students at St Paul’s School who are being prepared for baptism. On Friday, the Year 7 and 8 students had an RE Q&A with ‘Dr Chris.’ They are deep thinkers and asked some amazing questions!
Yesterday evening 6 APC members together with Archbishop Paul had a gathering of both the Nelson and Tasman parishes. There was a great turnout of about 70 people from Nelson, Stoke, Richmond, Motueka and Takaka. There was a great sense of community as members of the two parishes shared about their local ministries.
In the second part of the evening, people gathered into small groups for a time of reflection and sharing. They explored together how the Holy Spirit may be leading them to respond to local needs, using the synodal process of Spiritual Conversation. It was a very blessed and hope-filled evening for all.”
