On Saturday 13 July 2024 the Archdiocesan event for our migrant communities and chaplaincies was held. The day started with a multicultural Mass at The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Sacred Heart celebrated by Archbishop Paul Martin and was followed by tours of the Cathedral. The participants attended a workshop led by the Ecology Justice and Peace Commission. The day finished with a shared lunch, where communities shared a dish from their home country. There were around 60 attendees which included communities from Myanmar, Zimbabwe, the Philippines, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, India, Indonesia and Spanish speakers.
This event was a collaboration between the Archdiocesan Church Mission team, Catholic Social Services and the Office of the Vicar General.
Thank you to everyone who came to be a part of the day to network, learn from one another and be together in community.
