The way that care for creation is integrated into the shared life of the Church, and into our everyday lives and how our worship, prayer and mission show God’s love for the whole of creation are the focus of an environmental conference in Wellington next month.
Lament, Hope and Action environmental conference, October 5-7, is being hosted by Christian environmental group A Rocha, the Otago University Centre for Theology and Public Issues and Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand.
Opening speakers Jonathan Boston and Bishop Peter Cullinane will outline the current ecological crisis and its moral causes and challenges to us as Christians.
Other speakers and workshops will discuss the different ways that Christians are responding. The conference will also include times of liturgy and prayer, drawing on the various traditions to motivate and inspire our commitment to the world and its peoples.

The conference will end on Sunday afternoon with an invitation to join in practical environmental projects in Island Bay and Ōwhiro Bay.
