St Joseph’s Church in Levin was packed to the ceiling on Sunday 25 October 2020 to celebrate Fr Raymond Soriano’s 40th Jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood. Based in Levin, Fr Raymond is assistant priest for Ss Mary and Joseph, Hāto Mere me Hohepa – parish of Ōtaki and Levin.
Several priests concelebrated the Mass, and Fr Peter Fahy gave the homily.
After the Mass everyone was entertained by individuals and groups representing the multicultural face of the parish. The meal was a feast itself with substantial support from the large Philippine community.
The celebration ended with much singing and dancing, a fitting tribute to a man who has endeared himself to the Levin community.
