Year 8 students from St Joseph’s School Stratford spent Holy Week acting out the events of the last week of Jesus’ life for the rest of the school. Erin Rowe read the appropriate story from the bible each day and the students acted the story in an impromptu way with minimal costumes and props.
The school saw the excitement of Palm Sunday, the message of service for the washing of the feet, the remembrance of the Last Supper, the sadness of Good Friday and the joy of Easter Sunday.
One of the school’s RE Leaders, Shohn Harper, acted the part of Jesus and the school related well to watching the acting as well as singing the Holy Week chants.
Afterwards, all students returned to their own class to do a follow-up activity. This included washing each other’s feet, and sharing hot cross buns and raspberry juice!
